3D in action: invite a T-Rex into your living room

Nomoko’s 3D modelling powers the AR simulation of Koller Auctions, letting you project the almost twelve-meter-long dinosaur into your immediate surroundings.

On April 18th, 2023, the 67-million-year-old Tyrannosaurus rex skeleton named TRX-293 TRINITY will go on sale at Koller Auctions in Zurich as the first complete T-Rex to be auctioned in Europe – and only the third worldwide. Measuring 11.6 meters (38 feet) in length and 4.37 meters (14 feet) in height, TRINITY is certainly a spectacular skeleton. Can’t quite imagine how this would fit into your living room? Neither can we. Still, you don’t have to rely on your imagination alone: Thanks to Nomoko’s 3D model of TRINITY, you can project the T-Rex into your immediate surroundings using just your smart phone.

Augmenting reality with photorealistic 3D models

Koller Auction’s AR simulation is made possible by a high-res 3D model that Nomoko created only from pictures. While we are usually known for capturing and creating 3D models at urban scale, the TRX-293 TRINITY model shows that the applications of 3D are limitless.
